“Don’t Make Fun of Renowned Dan Brown,” which is making the rounds, but I was feeling this particular paragraph.

Mexican food in the Bay Area

We think we have great Mexican food in the Bay Area. We don’t, really.

Beyond some taquerias in SF, taco trucks in the East Bay and the oft ignored restaurants in the South Bay, we have rice and beans stuffed into tortillas, decorated with skinny strips of protein, and we call it a burrito.

Blah. Fuck that shit.

Chicago has far more great Mexican food than the Bay Area — I ate a lot of it and lamented the fact all the while. And, of course, San Diego is king of Mexican in the states — having spent my school years there, I subsisted on the stuff. 

The foodie writer linked here is well aware of the paucity. Unfortunately, he is only highlighting expensive restaurants in the area (to no one’s suprise). What we need is the good stuff at lunch, a quick dinner, a snack after drinking all night long.

Until that day comes, stay away from the taco truck parked outside the Hotsy Totsy in Albany, California. Because it is MINE. 

I like Daylight Saving Time, too. (Bonus: No S at the end of "Saving")

I like seeing the sun when I leave work. I like feeling that the entirety of my day was not mostly lost to eight hours in a cubicle, behind a screen. 

But read the article for more cogent reasons for retaining DST. I especially like this:

“If we stayed on Standard Time throughout the year, sunrise here in the Chicago area would be between 4:15 and 4:30 am from the middle of May through the middle of July. And if you check the times for civil twilight, which is when it’s bright enough to see without artificial light, you’ll find that that starts half an hour earlier.”

Sunlight at 4:30 in the morning is a complete waste. So dumb.

There’s a reason Arizona isn’t using it: It’s a dumb state with a dumb government. There’s a reason that the Navajo Nation does not fall in line with Arizona — the Navajos are not dumb.

A petition to eliminate DST is dumber. Way to waste the government’s time, dumbasses.

(By the way, it’s “Daylight Saving Time,” not “Savings.” If the namer of this best of inventions had possessed an eye for dashes that reduce confusion, it would be “Daylight-Saving Time.”)
